Tasmanian Referee Craig Gardiner joined the Women’s and U17 Girls 7s tour to Sydney and Wagga Wagga as a development opportunity provided by the Tasmanian Rugby Union.
Craig refereed the matches between Tasmania and the Maroubrua Magic 7s teams and was referee coached by Alex Richards, from the NSW Referees Association.
He then refereed matches in Wagga Wagga in the Junior Girls, Junior boys and Senior Women’s division representative teams from the ACT, Victoria and Tasmania, alongside referees from Canberra and Melbourne.
Tasmanian Rugby look forward to expand these referee development opportunities into 2018.
