Pathways & Representative Teams

Tasmanian Rugby competes at the Southern States Junior Championship, Australian Schools Championship and Australian Rugby Shield (ARS).

At senior level, Tasmania has competed under the Jack Jumpers moniker at the ARS and Emerging States Championship since 2000.

In the 2024 ARS, Tasmania's men ended a five-year drought by defeating Queensland Suburban at Caloundra Rugby Club.

The TRU is working closely with Rugby Australia and fellow Member Unions to streamline pathway opportunities for our elite junior and senior playing pool with a focus on U16, U18 and women's state representative sides.
