Tasmania's Adam Coleman has written his name into rugby folklore after helping French club Bordeaux-Begles to a 28-20 win over Northampton Saints in the European Champions Cup final.
The towering 204cm Newton High School graduate was among Bordeaux-Begles' best in the European decider, scoring a 20th minute try in a match-turning performance that sees him become the state's first ever Champions Cup winner.
A former Tasmanian age-grade prodigy who represented Glenorchy and Hobart Harlequins, Coleman went on to play 38 Tests for Australia before moving overseas and shifting his international allegiance to Tonga.
On the local front, Launceston continued their trend as TRU Men's pacesetters with two wins at Royal Park while Devonport and Harlequins also enjoyed strong performances in Round Three.
Launceston 2 registered a 61-0 over Glenorchy before reigning premiers Launceston 1 rolled Eastern Suburbs 130-3.
The Bulls were put to work by the travelling Hobart Lions with Jamie Tanti and Hudson Connell-Kelly crossing for braces in a 34-7 win while Hobart Harlequins ace Semisi Pomana ran riot with four tries in 69-6 victory over Burnie.
However the Emus fared better in their TasNetworks Women's fixture with Rebecca Sweetman spearheading a six-point win over Harlequeens in Hobart.
Sweetman scored 40 of her side's 55 points - including six tries and five conversions - while Harlequeens star Lopa Fiela shone with four tries of her own.
Defending TasNetworks Women's champions Taroona rolled an understrength University 78-0 with Launceston similarly dominant in a 73-7 win over Eastern Suburbs.
In the U16 boys competition, Taroona's Zac Tieman scored late to seal a 30-24 win over Hutchins while Zavier Throw (eight tries, one conversion) and Hamish McNeil (four tries, 11 conversions) anchored Eastern Stags' 109-0 win over Bulls.
Devonport's U18s made amends against Hutchins, running out 40-17 victors at the Don Recreation Ground, while Taroona's U18s rounding out the weekend with a 74-0 win over Tigers.
