Burnie Magic Round
WHAT IS MAGIC ROUND?

Women’s Rugby Magic Round was created to celebrate the players, coaches, referees, volunteers and supporters who continue to drive the growth of the women’s game across Tasmania.

The concept combines Women’s Premiership Rugby with school engagement, community activities, partner activations, business networking and social events.

Each Magic Round is designed to:

· showcase women’s rugby in a major-event environment

· introduce more women and girls to the game

· bring clubs and supporters together

· provide a platform for community and business engagement

· celebrate the contribution of women across Tasmanian rugby

· support representative and participation pathways

BUILDING ON THE SUCCESS OF BURNIE

The inaugural Women’s Rugby Magic Round in Burnie showed what can be achieved when rugby, business and community come together.

Across the week and weekend, the Burnie event delivered:

3 Women’s Premiership matches at one venue

300+ Students engaged through school visits across the North West Coast

12 Participants at the Women & Girls Come & Try session

2 Special rugby guests, Olympic Gold Medallist and Classic Wallaroo Charlotte Caslick and Classic Wallaby Mark Gerrard

Statewide Media, digital and community coverage

The Burnie program also included a business networking function, community activations and a designated Women’s Rugby Clubhouse, creating opportunities for players, supporters, businesses and community leaders to connect away from the field.
