Round 3 of the statewide women's and juniors competitions got underway across Hobart, Launceston and Devonport with Glenorchy producing two strong wins.

The Does were dominant in a 66-12 win over Launceston at Royal Park with Georgia Sproule (five tries) and Cerise Wirihana-Hawea (three tries, eight conversions) their chief destroyers.

Rebecca Sweetman pulled back two tries for Tigers but it wasn't to be as Chelsea Oppitz and Lopa Fielea ran in further tries for the visiting Does.

Down south, Taroona earned bragging rights over Eastern Suburbs with Meg Garnsey and Chelsea Whittaker bagging doubles in a 52-10 win.

There was some joy for Roosters fans with Maitreya Bushe and Kara Lawler crossing for the side's first points of 2024, though the Penguins were rarely troubled with Emma Bray, Carly Hay and Eimear Greenhill piling on points.

In the U18 boys competition, Hutchins' Charles Boman produced a skipper's knock with four conversions and a try to spearhead a 33-19 win over Devonport.

Elijah Forbes, Zenon Latimer and Cooper Crowther scored for the hosts but Hutchins were a cut above with Reuben Gasset and Tomas Burt among their try scorers.

In the U16 boys competition, Tigers pipped Hutchins in a 32-31 thriller with backline flyers Dewy Thomas and Heyns Jacobs posting key doubles while Eastern Stags duo Hamish McNeil (two tries) and Zavier Throw (two tries, two conversions) helped deliver a 39-10 win over Taroona.
