The Tasmanian Rugby Union is seeking applicants for the newly-created volunteer role of Head Coach - State Women's XVs.
Tasmanian Rugby has had great improvements in recent years, and we are looking to improve this further with more development in the Women’s game.
In 2025 we are looking to continue the development of our Women’s rugby program and will take a women's team to the Australian Rugby Shield for the first time.
The successful applicant will report to the Director of Coaching and General Manager to develop a player squad that will reduce in size through the year as we get closer to selecting the final touring squad.
This role is a 2 year contract and will look to set the foundations for our women’s XVs rugby program into the future.
All applicants should be Level 2 coach Qualified and have experience as a player or coach in women’s teams previously.
In the role you will be expected to:
- Work with TRU Director of Coaching and General Manager to select an initial squad
- Work with Director of Coaching to develop playing style
- Plan and run training sessions throughout 2025
- Work with Senior Women’s club coaches throughout year to discuss player progress
- Select final touring squad for and travel with team to Australian Rugby Shield tournament (dates TBC)
