Hobart Harlequins have sewn up the final berth in this year's TRU's men's Premiership pool off the back of last weekend's 32-18 win over Burnie.

Desperate to arrest a three-game losing streak, Quins headed north-west needing a win to secure top five seeding and a crack at the state's top gong.

What followed was a season-defining performance with Quins laying on six tries to two at Emu Park to give themselves the inside line to Premiership qualification.

With a game in hand, Hobart Lions had their chance to push for fifth place on the road at Devonport but couldn't match the Bulls' firepower, falling 36-10 at Don Recreation Ground to end their Premiership push.

The Bulls' bonus-point win meant Glenorchy could rise no higher than fourth despite a 16-try romp over Launceston 2 with the Premiership and Championship pools now decided.

Launceston 1 (first), Taroona (second), Devonport (third), Glenorchy (fourth) and Harlequins (fifth) will now face each other in round robin play to determine Premiership semi final seedings while Burnie, Hobart Lions, Launceston 2, University and Eastern Suburbs will contest a separate Championship pool.

Men's TRU Premiership and Championship fixtures will resume on July 13.
