Taroona and Launceston are running hot but after Round 2 of the TRU Men’s competition but there’s another team to watch out for in 2024.

Glenorchy are emerging as dark horses for a slice of TRU silverware following a 2-0 start to their campaign.

Fresh off a 47-8 win over Hobart Harlequins in Round 1, the Stags shot down Hobart Lions 36-20 with flyhalf Haare Tumai again starring with the ball.

Tumai eclipsed his two-try efforts against Quins with a four-try haul against the Lions at Eady Street to spearhead Glenorchy’s second bonus-point win in as many weeks.

Meanwhile Launceston’s winning ways continued with both Tigers outfits enjoying victory at home on Saturday.

Launceston 1 opened proceedings with a 62-5 romp over Burnie before Launceston 2 dug deep to down a dogged University outfit 38-33 at Royal Park.

In Devonport, the Bulls fell to a second consecutive loss with Taroona winning 27-13 on the road while a Josh Dawai hat-trick headlined Quins’ 74-0 win over Eastern Suburbs.

Upcoming Round 3 Fixtures
