Coaching & team staff positions for the Senior Women, Schoolboys (U18), Schoolgirls (U18), U16 Boys and U14 Boys 15-a-side teams are now open for their respective 2018 programs.
The Senior Women will travel to Melbourne on the June long weekend.
The U18 Schoolboys will travel to the Gold Coast in the July school holidays to contest the Div II Schools Championships against South Australia, the Northern Territory and New South Wales 2.
The U16 and U14 Boys tour is still being finalised, but are expected to travel together in the July school holidays.
The U18 Schoolgirls team will travel to Canberra to play in the Southern States Championship from Thursday 28th June – Sunday 1st July.
All teams will travel with 4 team staff: Coach, Assistant Coach, Manager and Physio/Sports Trainer.
Coaches in each region will be required to coach a weekly skills session for all players who are based in their region, regardless of their age group.
Coaches will then coach their age group at the weekly Sunday Statewide team training sessions.
A season plan will be developed between all coaches prior to the first training session to ensure uniformity of coaching for players across regions and age groups.
There will be the opportunity to input your own ideas and strategies, but a consistent set of skills and game understanding will be developed across our 4 representative age groups.
This is to ensure a consistent development pathway for our young players, and a supportive coach development program facilitated by Tasmanian Rugby.
You will guided on adequate selection and communication practices with players and drive team spirit, and the goal of the coaching staff will be to aid in the development of players’ skills, game understanding and team behaviour above winning at all costs.
Tasmanian Rugby will provide full support to all coaches.
