Round 5 of the statewide women's and juniors saw Taroona and Hutchins once again leading the charge with UniQueens and Tigers also notching wins.

In the women's competition, Taroona extended their unbeaten streak to four games with Karryne Hurkmans' double anchoring a 31-10 win over Glenorchy Does.

The Penguins also found joy in the under 18 boys division as hat-trick hero Cameron Kirkby helped Taroona to a 60-14 win over Bulls at Rugby Park.

Meanwhile, UniQueens bounced back from last week's tight loss to Taroona in emphatic fashion with Ella Gair's four-try haul spearheading a 72-12 defeat of Eastern Suburbs.

In the under 16 boys division, Hutchins enjoyed a hard-fought 23-19 win over Eastern Stags at Eady Street with Tigers also winning on the road against Taroona.

Oscar Davey ran rampant for the visitors, scoring three tries and kicking three conversions in their 53-17 victory.
