The Tasmanian Rugby Union (TRU) is aware of developing media interest in the proposed development of Hobart Phoenix basketball courts on the Rugby Park premises at Selfs Point.
The TRU can confirm it has been involved in initial discussions regarding this proposal, as the primary stakeholder in the site, but no final decision or agreement has been reached with any parties to date.
The TRU is surprised the proposal was raised at the Hobart City Council meeting on Monday as it was done so without further consultation or advice to TRU officials.
Nevertheless, the TRU will continue to work with HCC and relevant stakeholders for the betterment of rugby on the Rugby Park site.
